I can imagine the sort of person who wants to read it but knows he won't re-read a book he's read once. He could get on the pre-order list at Amazon, buy and read the copy, and recover much of his cost with a guaranteed re-sale. He wouldn't make money that way, but would cut down on expenses and clutter around the house.
I'm guessing the copy I ordered will see three, maybe four readers. And maybe be referenced for my wife's novel.
