"an object ... also served as a daily reminder of a more recent troubling past". It is indeed troubling to be reminded of the mile-thick ice which aggressively invaded from Canada, forcing out the native inhabitants and thrusting pre-Cambrian intruders into the peaceful land.

The object served as a daily reminder because people of an activist mind created that situation, then complained about it. It is entirely circular, as no one would have noticed or cared if they hadn't brought it up, then kept hammering it until they created the association with racism.

ReplyDeleteCreating the problem that they demand you solve.. It reminds me of the man who killed his parents and then threw himself on the mercy of the court because he was an orphan.
