I'd never seen a bald eagle in the wild before, though you can find them in Wisconsin. But yesterday as I waited for the bus at the campus end of State street, a bald eagle soared overhead, and then circled around and around until its circle drifted east out of sight. Beautiful: it brightened the otherwise dead-snow dingy street.
The bird must have followed the Yahara up to visit us. Thanks!
