At a school concert the other day, I saw a number of posters evidently directed at an African-American student event. The one nearest me involved a black family, and bore a slogan inviting us all to build the family and destroy the patriarchy. I wonder who thought that up. If I read the statistics and studies correctly, black children need
more fathers willing to take responsibility for their families, not fewer.
What does the slogan-eer think a family is? A fungible collection of interchangeable, role-less bodies?

I think it's about feelings, not facts. Dreaming of a world far away, but only thinking about the rainbow and unicorn parts.
