Relativity

It was 13 this morning, and people complained about the cold spring. But I remember quite distinctly, less than two months ago, saying to Youngest Son "It is warm. It's 14. Go shovel the driveway."

We do acclimate quickly, don't we?

Yes indeed.

It's funny: We may complain, but we go outside when it is 14. When it gets to 20 below, we prefer to stay inside, so it doesn't feel as cold.

When I worked at a university I noted that in the fall the kiddies (particularly the little dollies) would started dressing in all the clothes (at once) that they had on campus or could borrow when the temperature passed 50° on the way down and in as little as the law and the Jesuits would allow when it crossed 30 on the way up in the spring.
