Living virtuously

My wife told me of a click-bait item she just looked at, which I won't bother offering a link to. "How can I get plastics out of my life?"

Suggestions included "buy silk!" Buying in bulk sounds like a plan too. And other things that demand a fair chunk of up-front money.

If virtue was a thing that money could buy...

The people who profess to care about plastics...I assume their devices are made out of paper?

As the boss of Homicide Division said in one Dragnet episode, "You might find a way to French fry an ice cube."

It's impossible, you can never fully get plastics out of your life. Many people screaming about plastics straws probably use Gilette or Venus brand razors, which have plastic handles. No one can really avoid using Ziploc bags. People forget their water bottles at home and end up buying bottled water. Many organic and "natural" foods come in disposable plastic packages. And while I may not need a plastic straw to drink my beverages, many people in assisted living do need them. Reusable straws are a bear to clean and can damage the mouth.
