Fischer's book arrived this afternoon, and I'm glad I bought it hardcover rather than kindle, since several of us will probably be reading it at the same time. So far it has lived up to my expectations. I've learned a lot.
I have it on my wish list but am waiting for the price to drop - as I am with many things. I should probably check inter-library loan as well. I have loved DHF ever since I read Albion's Seed, which changed my few of the American colonies forever, in the 1980s

Initially the price was $40, and I figured I'd get around to it eventually--and when "eventually" came around they'd dropped it to $32 or some such.
